Concrete & Driveway FAQ

Straight answers about concrete projects in Burlington County and how our referral service works.

Free referral service. A partner contractor contacts you directly.

Do you pour the concrete yourselves?

No. Burlington Concrete Pros is an independent referral service. We pass your request to an independent partner contractor serving your area, and that contractor does any work under their own contract.

Does a concrete contractor need to be registered in New Jersey?

Yes. Home improvement contractors, including those who install driveways, patios and walkways, must register with the New Jersey Division of Consumer Affairs. Contracts over $500 must be in writing and include the contractor's registration number, and you can cancel within three business days of receiving the contract.

Do I need a permit for a new driveway or patio?

Often. Townships commonly require permits for driveway aprons, curb cuts and sidewalk work, and may require zoning approval for new or wider driveways and patios that add impervious coverage. County roads and state highways have their own permits. Check with your township and HOA.

Who fixes the sidewalk in front of my house?

In many New Jersey towns, the homeowner is responsible for the public sidewalk in front of the property. Some towns offer assistance programs. Ask your township's public works or engineering office.

When can I drive on a new concrete driveway?

Your contractor will give you specific guidance based on the mix and the weather. Foot traffic is usually allowed sooner than cars, and heavy vehicles should wait longer.

Why did my new concrete crack?

Concrete shrinks as it cures, and some cracking is normal. Control joints are there to guide where it cracks. Wide or shifting cracks can point to base or drainage problems. Ask what the warranty covers.

Can I put salt on concrete?

Deicing salt can damage concrete, especially in its first winter. Ask your contractor which deicer they recommend; sand can help with traction without the chemical damage.

How much does a concrete driveway cost?

We do not publish prices. The estimate depends on size, thickness, tear-out, base work, finish, access for the truck and permits. Get the scope, specs and price in writing.

Is there any charge for sending a request?

No. Sending a request is free and you are not obligated to hire anyone. We may be paid by partner contractors for referrals.

What happens to my information?

We share your request with the partner contractor we refer it to so they can contact you. We do not sell it. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Burlington Concrete Pros is an independent referral service, not a contractor. We do not perform concrete, paving or driveway work ourselves. When you send a request, we share it with an independent partner contractor serving Burlington County, NJ, who contacts you directly. Any estimate, contract, pricing, licensing, insurance and workmanship are between you and that contractor. Please verify their credentials before you hire.
